Peace everyone

My name is Asar. I joined the group about a month and half/two months ago but haven't been able to come to the meetings (but came to the Caramel film). I just wanted to formally introduce myself to the group.

I am a web applications developer and graphic artist, historian and poet. I decided to learn French because I study African Histiography and now have "dabbled" in linguistics. Most of the books and research papers written by Africans on the continent are written in French. So to be able to read and converse with these historians, I need to be able to communicate in French. African languages that I am studying as well are the Ki-Kongo Bantu, Ki-Swahili and the Ta-Merrian (Egyptian) Mdw Ntr (Medu Netcher).

I have a couple of books, cd-roms and an English/French dictionary. But lord knows I won't stay motivated to read them by myself. So I sought out a group and found this one. I plan on coming to the meeting today and look forward to meeting everyone. Thanks for your time.

Ancestrally,

Asar Imhotep

Bonjour et bienvenue, Asar! Did I meet you at Caramel? Were you one of Maria Elena's friends who went for coffee with us afterwards? Enjoy the meeting tonight! I don't usually get to the Wed. night meetings, but when I do, I am always impressed by the large number of people there. There is always someone to talk to.

Bonjour "oneHotBiscuit"

No mam, that wasn't me. That night I really didn't know who the group was because it was my first event. So I just sat there and watched the movie and left afterwards. Not much French in the film though.

Sorry we missed you! It was very crowded that night. We did wait in the lobby afterwards for a bit and then went to Mingalone's for dessert and coffee afterwards. Next time, take my cellphone number with you and call if you can't find us.

I agree that there was not much French in it. :-(
